Raids, arrests sweep Dashnaktsutyun offices across Armenia

Arrests and searches are currently taking place at regional offices of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun throughout Armenia.

Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the party’s Supreme Body, confirmed the developments on social media, describing them as the onset of a new wave of political persecution, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media. 

He noted that these actions coincide with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Türkiye. “Dashnak members are being detained throughout Armenia,” Saghatelyan stated, highlighting growing concerns about political repression against opposition groups in the country.

Earlier, the Telegram channel of the "Sacred Struggle" movement reported mass arrests of party supporters in Armenia. The reasons behind these actions remain unclear, but they are unfolding amid Pashinyan’s visit to Istanbul. The initiative "Five Human Rights Defenders" condemned the security forces' actions as a form of terror. According to human rights activists, dozens of citizens with opposition views have been detained.
