Raisi raps US crackdown on students in pro-Palestine rallies

23 April 2024 20:10

The Iranian president said that the people of Iran and Pakistan share defending the Palestinian nation as a common belief, condemning the US authorities for expelling students from universities for pro-Palestine protests.

Speaking at a ceremony at the University of Lahore in continuation of the visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, President Ebrahim Raisi said, "The people of Iran and Pakistan both defend the oppressed Palestinian nation. Islamic Iran will continue to defend the resistance and the oppressed nation of Palestine with pride."

He pointed to the Iranian military reprisal strikes on the Zionist regime on April 13 for its earlier attack on April 1 on Iran's consulate, saying, "The great Iranian nation punished the Zionist regime for the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which was against all international laws."

"If the Zionists make a mistake and attack the territory of Islamic Iran, they will be in completely different conditions. It is not clear that there will be anything left from the Zionist regime [after their new aggression]," he added.

The president went on to note that the US authorities have arrested dozens of college students for attending pro-Palestine protests and even expelled them from their universities recently.

"Today, the biggest violators of human rights are Americans and Westerners as supporters of the Zionist regime in its child-killing and genocide. The liberation of Quds is the number one question of humankind. The resistance of the people of Gaza will lead to the liberation of the Holy Quds and Palestine," continued Raisi.
