Red Square to close for New Year’s Eve celebrations in Moscow
Red Square in Moscow will be closed to visitors from 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, until 10:00 a.m. on January 1, 2026, the press service of the city’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
Authorities clarified that the GUM ice rink will continue to operate according to its regular schedule during the closure.
Earlier, over 2,000 children from Russia’s border regions arrived in Moscow to take part in a New Year’s program.
The visitors will enjoy an extensive cultural itinerary, including a guided tour of Red Square, a walk through VDNKh, visits to the multimedia museum “Russia — My History” and the Darwin Museum, and a cinema session.
The program will conclude with the highlight of the trip: Tatiana Navka’s ice show “The Nutcracker” at the Navka Arena.
