Regional oil majors convene in Astana to mull quadripartite memorandum implementation PHOTO
In Astana, KazMunayGas (KMG) Chairman Askhat Hasenov and Uzbekneftegaz (UNG) Chairman Bakhodirjon Sidikov met to discuss the implementation of the quadripartite memorandum between KazMunayGas, SOCAR, Tatneft, and Uzbekneftegaz.
The memorandum focuses on digitalisation and industrial safety, according to a statement by KazMunayGas reported by Caliber.Az.
During the meeting, KMG and UNG exchanged experiences in information technology and artificial intelligence, highlighting their ongoing collaboration in these fields.
The parties also explored prospects for cooperation in geological exploration.
A joint working group has been established to review projects in promising geological areas within Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
KazMunayGas has developed DataRoom, a unified information space where UNG specialists can study geological and technical data related to exploration projects.
The discussion also paid special attention to oil and gas refining as well as petrochemical development, including plans for producing linear alkylbenzene.
