Remarks by UK official confirms West's desire to set Armenia against Russia Statement by Foreign Ministry
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has made a statement regarding the UK Deputy Defence Minister James Heappey’s remarks supporting Armenia’s decision to freeze its membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
“The United Kingdom's Deputy Defense Minister James Heappey remarks on supporting Armenia confirm the West's desire to turn the country into a tool against Russia,” a statement by the Russian ministry said, TASS reports.
“Attention was paid to the statements of UK Deputy Defence Minister James Heappey, who indicated readiness to support Armenia in the face of "threats emanating from Russia". We are no longer surprised by the fact that London has stopped hiding the anti-Russian nature of all its steps in the post-Soviet space, including in the South Caucasus," the ministry pointed out.
“However, Heappey's revelations are also a direct confirmation of the fact that the West seeks to turn Armenia into an instrument of its anti-Moscow line in the region. This is a reason for responsible politicians in Yerevan to think seriously about it.”
