Russia accuses Japan in anti-Russian campaign
Japan actually encourages the activities of the Azov Battalion in Ukraine.
The remarks came from the Russian Foreign Ministry in the report “On Violations of the Rights of Russian Citizens and Compatriots in Foreign Countries” published on its website.
“In April 2022, the Japanese side removed from the list of terrorist organizations in the national “Overview of the Situation in the Field of International Terrorism” for 2021 the reference to the Ukrainian Azov Battalion. Thus, for political reasons, Japan actually encourages the activities of the aforementioned terrorist organization, which is fraught with new threats to the life and security of Russian citizens, ”the ministry’s website says.
The Foreign Ministry also said that after the start of Russia's "military operation" in Ukraine, Japan launched "an unprecedented campaign against Russia and its citizens in terms of anti-Russian sentiments."
“There is a trend towards efforts of anti-Russian rhetoric in the Japanese information space, including the media, social networks and the blogosphere.
There have been cases of denial of employment on the basis of belonging to the citizenship of the Russian Federation,” the diplomats said.
In addition, consular offices receive complaints from Russian women who talk about “facts of domestic violence by Japanese spouses.”
