13 April 2025 13:36
The Armenian General Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that Russia will extradite Tatul Asilyan, a former member of Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party, to Yerevan.
Asilyan, who was placed on Armenia’s wanted list in May 2024, was found in Russia in September 2024, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Following an official request from Armenian authorities, the Russian General Prosecutor's Office has agreed to proceed with his extradition. Asilyan is set to be transferred to Armenian law enforcement agencies.
The Armenian Prosecutor's Office has stated that Asilyan is facing charges of corruption and bribery under Article 440 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. In November 2023, he was expelled from the party.
