Russia announces third round of consultations with US to address bilateral issues

The third round of bilateral consultations between Russia and the United States aimed at resolving outstanding issues in their strained relationship will take place imminently, although an exact date has yet to be determined.

The announcement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Ryabkov emphasized that Moscow is awaiting a clear response from Washington regarding several key proposals, notably including the return of Russian diplomatic properties that were seized in the United States.

“There is a complex array of issues — some more challenging than others,” Ryabkov said. “While there are no inherently easy matters in US-Russia relations, comparatively, visa issues are somewhat more manageable than, for example, the resumption of direct flights between our countries.”

Despite the difficulties, Ryabkov stressed that these challenges serve to galvanize Russian efforts.

“We remain determined to secure a more definitive response from the Americans concerning our proposals, including those outlined in the roadmap we submitted regarding the restitution of unlawfully confiscated diplomatic real estate in the US,” he told reporters in Sochi.
