Russia claims to be in heated dispute with US

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said that Russia and the US had entered the phase of a hot conflict.

He made the remarks on the air of Radio Sputnik.

According to him, the US is involved in a hybrid war against Russia in a variety of ways. The diplomat said that some forms of this war are unprecedented, this has never happened before in history.

Ryabkov also commented on the talk of a possible nuclear war. He stressed that Russia has repeatedly pointed out that there can be no winners in a nuclear war, hence it cannot be launched.

According to him, the US is "recklessly" taking matters further down the escalation ladder, they are blinded by their belief in their ability to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. The diplomat described Washington's actions as playing with fire in the truest sense of the word.

Ryabkov added that it would be a fatal mistake for the United States to underestimate Russia's resolve to take all measures and use all means to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and statehood.
