Russia completes evacuation of citizens from Persian Gulf countries

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia announced that Russian and foreign airlines have completed the return of Russian tourists and transit passengers who had encountered difficulties departing from countries in the Persian Gulf region.

The ministry, citing data from the Ministry of Transport of Russia, said that approximately 59,000 people were transported on 284 flights between March 2 and March 11.

Despite the completion of the evacuation operation, hostilities in the region continue. In this context, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned of possible disruptions, including the cancellation of connecting flights through major airline hubs in Persian Gulf countries.

The ministry also reiterated its existing recommendation that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to several countries in the region, including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

Russian nationals currently in the region have been urged to exercise heightened caution, avoid potentially dangerous areas, and strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities. The ministry also advised citizens to proceed immediately to shelters in the event of a missile threat and to maintain regular contact with tour operators and airlines.
