Russia creating coastal complex for Zircon missile

Russia has been creating a coastal complex for the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile.

The Zircon missile is the first missile in the world capable of hitting a target at a distance of 1,000 kilometres and moving at a speed of more than 10,000 km/h, TASS reports citing sources.

“The Scientific and Production Association of Mechanical Engineering in Russia’s Reutov district is developing the latest coastal complex for the Zircon hypersonic missile. It is planned to be transferred to the Navy till late 2022,” the source said.

Zircon, launched from the new complex, will be able to hit not only maritime targets but also ground ones, another source of the news agency said.
