Russia declares Easter truce across all fronts in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a halt to hostilities in Ukraine across all fronts in connection with the Orthodox Easter holiday.
The corresponding decree has been published on the Kremlin’s official website. The ceasefire will begin on April 11 at 16:00 and will remain in effect until the end of April 12, 2026.
According to the document, Putin issued the order to Defence Minister Andrei Belousov and Chief of the General Staff — Commander of the Joint Group of Forces Valery Gerasimov. At the same time, troops have been instructed to remain ready to “repel possible provocations and any aggressive actions by the adversary.”
“We proceed from the assumption that the Ukrainian side will follow the example of the Russian Federation,” the Kremlin emphasised.
