Russia downs 93 Ukrainian drones, US-made JDAM bomb
Russian air defence systems have reportedly shot down a US-manufactured JDAM guided bomb and 93 fixed-wing drones.
In addition, Russian aviation, strike drones, missile forces, and artillery targeted military airfield infrastructure, ammunition depots, and concentrations of Ukrainian troops and equipment in 142 locations, Caliber.Az reports per Russian Defense Ministry.
On the ground, Russian forces of the "Vostok" grouping advanced further into Ukrainian defensive lines, engaging units of two mechanised brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and two territorial defence brigades.
The battles took place near the settlements of Otradnoye, Komar, and Privolnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic, as well as Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Ukrainian forces reportedly suffered up to 185 casualties, in addition to the loss of a tank, two armoured combat vehicles, ten automobiles, and three field artillery pieces.
Meanwhile, units of the "Dnepr" grouping targeted Ukrainian personnel and equipment from a mechanised and a mountain assault brigade, along with two territorial defence brigades, in the areas of Sadovoye and Mikhailovka in Kherson Oblast and Malye Shcherbaki in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
These clashes resulted in up to 60 Ukrainian casualties, as well as the destruction of two vehicles and an electronic warfare station.
