Russia downs over 120 Ukrainian drones overnight

Russian air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 127 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

In a statement released on April 25, the ministry said that “on-duty air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 127 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles” across multiple regions of the country.

The drones were reportedly shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Smolensk, Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as over the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Crimea.

According to the ministry, interceptions also took place over the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
