Russia downs three Ukrainian drones over two regions
Russian air defence systems successfully destroyed two Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the Belgorod region on the night of October 15 to 16.
A third drone was shot down over the Voronezh region, Caliber.Az reports per the Telegram channel of the Russian Defence Ministry.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
Notably, on October 16, officials in Kyiv reported that Russia launched a drone attack on the Ukrainian capital. As of now, no information has been provided regarding potential casualties or the extent of damage caused by the strike.
In response, Ukraine carried out a series of drone attacks on Russia’s southern Belgorod region. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the regional governor, confirmed that at least eight people were injured, with damage inflicted on vehicles and property.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities have ordered a mandatory evacuation of the towns of Kupiansk and Borova in the northeastern Kharkiv region due to advancing Russian forces. The evacuation was confirmed by Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov, who stated that the decision was taken to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
