Russia evacuates more nuclear plant workers from Iran via Armenia
Russia has evacuated another group of personnel from Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, transporting them through neighbouring Armenia, according to the Russian Embassy in Yerevan.
In a statement issued on March 28, the embassy said 164 employees of the state-owned nuclear corporation Rosatom had been safely moved out of Iran and into Armenia via the Norduz–Agarak border crossing, Caliber.Az reports.
The evacuees later departed from Yerevan on a special flight bound for Moscow.
The embassy said the operation was carried out through close coordination between Russian diplomats and Armenian authorities. In addition to Russian nationals, citizens of Belarus, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were also included in the evacuation effort.
