Russia exports record volumes of grain in face of sanctions

According to the results of the 2022-23 agricultural season which began on July 1, 2022, and will end on June 30, 2023, Russian exporters have sent record volumes of grain to foreign countries.

They exported 59.3 million tons of agricultural products, including 48.2 million tons of wheat, the Kommersant newspaper cited the statistics of Rusagrotrans analysts.

As a result of the increase in exports, the share of Russian wheat in the global agricultural market will be 13 per cent by the end of this month. For comparison, in the 2017-18 agricultural season, this figure was at just over 11 per cent, the article specifies.

"At the end of this agricultural season (began July 1, 2022, and will end June 30, 2023), exports of Russian grain will reach 59.3 million tons, of which 48.2 million tons is wheat. These figures are record-breaking, the share of Russian wheat on the world market will amount to 13 per cent (in the season 2017/18 - 11.3 per cent)," - the article says.
