Russia greenlights fish imports from two Armenian firms
Russia has approved the resumption of fish exports from two Armenian enterprises following joint inspections conducted by Armenian and Russian food safety authorities.
The decision follows checks carried out between May 21 and 27 across four fish farming facilities, according to Armenia’s Food Safety Inspection Body, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The inspections were conducted in cooperation with Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), which oversees animal and plant health controls on imports into Russia.
Following the review, two companies — LLC “MF Export” and LLC “Invest Plus” — have been cleared to resume shipments to the Russian market.
The authorities said assessments for a further two fish farms and eight plant-growing enterprises are still ongoing.
Earlier, Rosselkhoznadzor had suspended certain Armenian exports amid concerns over alleged shipments of falsified fish products of European origin, prompting the coordinated inspection programme now partially completed.
