Russia intercepts 11 Ukrainian drones over Rostov region
Tensions between Russia and Ukraine escalated further as reports emerged of Russian air defence forces intercepting 11 Ukrainian drones over the Rostov region during the night of March 25.
The interception came amidst heightened vigilance following a reported fire at the Novocherkassk State District Power Plant, as revealed by the governor of the region, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, the interception of the drones was a proactive measure undertaken by on-duty air defence units to safeguard the integrity of the Rostov region.
"Eleven Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted over the territory of Rostov region by on-duty air defence means," the ministry stated.
