Russia, Iran join forces to tackle escalating Tehran crisis
Russian and Iranian diplomats have discussed ways to overcome the crisis surrounding Tehran, which Moscow described as having been “provoked” by the United States and Israel.
The discussions took place in Moscow during Russian-Iranian interministerial consultations focused on arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Considerable attention was paid to the prospects for overcoming the crisis provoked by the US-Israeli campaign against Iran and resolving issues surrounding the Iranian nuclear program,” the ministry said in a statement following the consultations.
The talks also addressed broader issues related to arms control and non-proliferation, as Moscow and Tehran continue diplomatic coordination on regional security developments.
