Russia, partners draft UN resolution to combat neo-colonialism
Russia, in collaboration with its partners at the UN General Assembly, is drafting a resolution aimed at combating neo-colonialism, as reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry following the "Movement for the Freedom of Nations!" forum in Vladivostok.
The forum, organized by the United Russia party as part of the "World Majority for a Multipolar World" inter-party forum with participation from over 30 countries, highlighted the urgent need to address neo-colonial practices.
According to Kommersant, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized its strong commitment to this initiative, supporting United Russia in achieving its objectives.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, recently underscored the resistance from Western countries against efforts to eliminate neo-colonialism. In his article titled "Humanity must finally get rid of the legacy of the colonial system. The time of metropolises is over," published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Medvedev criticized Western interference in the affairs of sovereign states.
The "Movement for the Freedom of Nations!" launched by United Russia in February 2024, aims to combat modern forms of colonialism and includes participation from delegations across Africa, Asia, the CIS, the Middle East, and Latin America in its forums.
