Russia plans to launch a fully unmanned train in 2026.
A partially unmanned train will be launched on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) this year, Russian Railways head Oleg Belozerov said at the plenary discussion "Future Transportation System in the Interest of the Passenger" at the Russia exhibition and forum, according to TASS.
"This summer we will launch a train with unmanned driving at the 3 "A" level here in Moscow on the MCC. The next stage - a fully unmanned train we plan to launch in 2026. Some shift is due to the fact that Finist - a fully substituted electric train - has now appeared, and we are now putting the necessary equipment on it, which we have already developed," said the head of Russian Railways.
