Russia reports downing 903 Ukrainian drones in one day

On July 8, Russia's Defence Ministry said that its air defence systems had shot down 903 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones and eight guided aerial bombs over the previous 24 hours.

In a statement, the ministry said its air defence units had intercepted and destroyed "eight guided aerial bombs and 903 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

According to the ministry, since the start of the war, Russian forces have destroyed 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 177,206 unmanned aerial vehicles, 665 surface-to-air missile systems, 30,070 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,755 multiple-launch rocket systems, 35,683 field artillery guns and mortars, and 65,935 specialised military vehicles.
