Russia reports downing 93 Ukrainian drones overnight

Russian air defence units intercepted and destroyed 93 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over several regions during the night, the country’s Defence Ministry said on November 24.

According to the ministry, 45 drones were shot down over the Belgorod region, nine over Krasnodar Krai, seven over the Nizhny Novgorod region and four over the Voronezh region. A further 20 UAVs were destroyed over the Black Sea and eight over the Sea of Azov.

In response to the increased drone activity, authorities in Tatarstan declared a republic-wide “drone danger” alert early on 24 November. Similar warnings were issued in the regions of Ulyanovsk, Ivanovo, Penza, Yaroslavl, Voronezh and in the Republic of Mordovia.
