Russia reports intercepting 48 Ukrainian drones across six regions

Russian air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 48 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The ministry said the drones were shot down between 11:00 pm Moscow time on January 13 and 7:00 am on January 14.

Most of the drones – 25 in total – were intercepted over Russia’s Rostov region. A further 13 were downed over Stavropol Krai, five over Bryansk region, and three over Crimea.

Single drones were also destroyed over the Belgorod and Kursk regions, the ministry added.

Ukrainian officials have not commented on the claims, which could not be independently verified.
