Russia reserves right to target British military sites MFA spox warns

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, asserted that Russia retains the right to target British military facilities if threats made by British authorities regarding potential Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory with British weapons materialize.

"If such a scenario unfolds, our country reserves the right to respond accordingly," she stated, quoted by TASS.

She clarified that potential targets could include British facilities located within Ukraine or elsewhere beyond its borders.

Zakharova criticized British Foreign Secretary David Cameron's remarks, stating that London's intention to deem the use of British weapons by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for strikes on Russian territory as legitimate is "utterly absurd." She characterized this statement as illogical, pointing out that Britain had expressed "literally the opposite" not long ago.

Zakharova highlighted that Cameron's initial response was published by a British news agency, removed after two hours, and then reappeared a few hours later.
