Russia reveals name of "West" group commander fighting Ukraine

Russian Defence Ministry has said that the group of troops "West" involved in the "military operation" in Ukraine is led by Lieutenant General Andrei Sychev.

The news came in the Russian Defence Ministry’s statement about an inspection of the group at the initiative of Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Kommersant quotes the ministry as saying on July 20.

According to the statement, Sychev reported the minister on the current situation and ongoing combat missions.
