Russia’s presidential envoy: “Failed Rutte fails to defend failed NATO”
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is incapable of defending the failing North Atlantic alliance, according to Kirill Dmitriev, Russia’s presidential special envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
“Failed Rutte fails to defend failed NATO,” Dmitriev wrote on X, commenting on Rutte’s agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding NATO’s shortcomings.

Earlier, the NATO Secretary General acknowledged that some member states of the alliance had indeed failed the test posed by the United States. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously stated that the U.S. leader considers the U.S.–Israel war with Iran a test for NATO, which the alliance failed.
