Russia's Putin announces number of mobilized soldiers taking part in active combat

Russian President Vladimir Putin has disclosed that about 80,000 mobilized citizens are now in Ukraine with about 50,000 of them actively involved in combat actions.

The president made this remark at a meeting with the Governor of the Tver Region, Igor Rudenya, during a trip to the region, Kommersant reported.

"Around 50,000 are involved in combat activities. There are up to 80,000 servicemen in the conflict zone. The remaining ones are in military training grounds", the president said.
