Russia’s Rostov region reports overnight drone attack with no casualties

Ukrainian drones targeted Russia’s Rostov region overnight, local authorities said on Thursday, with air defences reportedly shooting down several unmanned aerial vehicles.

The region’s governor, Yury Slyusar, wrote on Telegram that the drones were destroyed in the Chertkovsky district and in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky during what he described as the repelling of an air attack in the early hours of January 30.

He said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, adding that details were still being clarified.

Officials warned that the drone threat in the region had not fully passed and that monitoring was continuing.
