Russia’s Sheremetyevo Airport limits flights amid drone threat

Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow) has introduced restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures. Flights will only operate with approval from the “relevant authorities,” Rosaviatsiya has reported.

The restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety, the agency explained. They are typically imposed when a drone threat is active in the region.

On the night of March 25, 389 UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were shot down over Russia, including in the Moscow region. The exact number of drones destroyed in the region has not been specified.
