Russia’s Tuapse oil refinery hit by drone attack, fire breaks out PHOTO
The Tuapse oil refinery has once again been attacked and is on fire in Russia’s Krasnodar region, according to an OSINT analysis by ASTRA.
Only four days have passed since a major fire at the marine terminal—caused by previous attacks—was fully extinguished.
On the night of April 28, residents of Tuapse reported numerous explosions and a new fire at the local refinery.
According to ASTRA’s analysis of eyewitness footage, the Tuapse refinery is indeed burning. Preliminary assessments suggest that the tank farm located near the ELOU-AVT-12 unit was hit, the OSINT analyst said.

As ASTRA previously reported, Ukraine had already attacked oil processing and storage facilities in Tuapse on April 16 and 20. Following the second strike, the refinery halted its only crude processing unit with a capacity of 12 million tonnes per year. It was only on April 24 that authorities in the Krasnodar region announced that the fire at the marine terminal had been fully extinguished.
After these attacks, an oil spill occurred in Tuapse. Petroleum products are being removed by trucks, while local residents complain of “oil rains,” with fuel oil stains affecting local animals.
Authorities reported a massive oil slick that appeared in the coastal waters following the attack. On April 20, Russia’s consumer safety watchdog advised Tuapse residents not to go outside unless necessary.
The Tuapse Oil Refinery is an enterprise in Russia’s Krasnodar region, operated by RN-Tuapse Refinery LLC. It forms a single production complex with the marine terminal of Rosneft’s petroleum supply enterprise, RN-Marine Terminal Tuapse LLC, and is part of the oil company Rosneft.

Authorities have confirmed the attack and the fire at the refinery.

“A fire broke out at the Tuapse refinery due to falling debris from drones. There are no casualties. A total of 122 personnel and 39 units of equipment are involved in firefighting efforts, including teams from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Krasnodar region,” the regional emergency response centre reported.
