Russia says 82 Ukrainian drones downed, intercepted overnight
Russia’s air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 82 Ukrainian drones overnight in a wide-scale aerial assault targeting multiple regions, the country’s Defence Ministry reported.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralised between 11:30 p.m. Moscow time on August 6 and 6:10 a.m. on August 7, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry's Telegram.
The ministry said 31 drones were intercepted over the waters of the Sea of Azov, 11 over the Crimean Peninsula, 10 over the Rostov Region, nine over the Krasnodar Territory, eight over the Black Sea, seven over the Volgograd Region, four over the Belgorod Region, and one drone each over the Kursk and Oryol regions.
No casualties or damage were reported as a result of the attempted strikes, according to the statement.
