Russia: Air defences down 33 drones overnight; civilian injured in border region
Russia’s defence ministry said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles overnight, according to a statement released on April 13.
The ministry reported that the drones were shot down between midnight and 07:00 Moscow time across several regions, including Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov, Bryansk and Smolensk, as well as the annexed Crimean peninsula.
Separately, a drone detonated in the town of Graivoron in Russia’s Belgorod region, injuring a civilian, the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
A woman sustained what were described as minor injuries, including a superficial shrapnel wound to the ear and blast-related trauma. She received medical treatment at the scene and declined hospitalisation, he added.
