Russia says air defences down over 140 Ukrainian drones overnight

Russian air defence systems shot down 141 Ukrainian drones overnight during what authorities described as a large-scale aerial attack across multiple regions, according to Russia’s Defence Ministry.

The interceptions took place between 20:00 Moscow time on April 30 and 07:00 on May 1, the operational headquarters of Russia’s Krasnodar region said, citing the ministry.

According to the statement, the drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga and Smolensk regions, as well as the Moscow region, Krasnodar territory and occupied Crimea.

Russian forces also intercepted drones over the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
