Russia says air defences downed 54 Ukrainian drones overnight

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 54 Ukrainian drones during the night between August 21 and 22.

According to the ministry, the drones — described as fixed-wing aircraft-type UAVs — were brought down across several regions, Caliber.Az reports.

Nineteen were intercepted over Bryansk, 11 over Volgograd, and eight over Rostov. Another seven were destroyed over Voronezh, while three each were downed over Belgorod and Oryol.

Two were intercepted over Kursk, and one over Crimea.

The ministry did not report any casualties or damage from the overnight attacks.
