Russia shoots down over 40 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions
Russia’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 41 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles between 20:00 and 23:00 on January 4, the Russian Ministry of Defence said on Telegram.
The highest number of drones — 14 — was shot down over the Kursk region. Seven UAVs were intercepted over the Moscow region, including two that were heading toward Moscow, Caliber.Az cites the Ministry's post.
According to official data, six drones were destroyed over the Ryazan region, four over the Belgorod region, and another four over the Lipetsk region. Three UAVs were downed over the Vladimir region, two over the Tver region, and one over the Voronezh region.
The Defence Ministry added that during the night, from 23:00 on January 4 to 07:00 on January 5, air defence forces intercepted three additional Ukrainian drones. Two were shot down over the Moscow region, including one en route to the capital Moscow, while one was intercepted over the Ryazan region.
