Russia suspends air travel to Middle East
Russian airlines have stopped selling tickets to Middle Eastern countries until 14 March due to flight restrictions in the region, the Russian Ministry of Transport has reported.
According to the ministry, Aeroflot will suspend flights from March 12, and Pobeda from March 9.
“Restrictions on the use of airspace remain in place, and as a result, Russian airlines have suspended ticket sales to Middle Eastern countries until 14 March inclusive. Flights to airports in the UAE have been cancelled until the end of March by Aeroflot (from 12 March) and Pobeda (from 9 March),” the statement said.
The ministry emphasised that the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya are actively coordinating with aviation authorities in Middle Eastern countries and are aligning actions with carriers. Russian citizens are promised timely updates on any changes in air travel.
