Russia to evacuate personnel's families from Bushehr Nuclear Plant in Iran

Rosatom, Russia’s state nuclear corporation, will soon begin evacuating families of Russian personnel and some staff involved in the construction of new units at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran, Gazeta.ru reports, citing CEO Alexey Likhachev.

“We have completed preparations for the second stage of workforce optimisation, namely the evacuation of families and some personnel to Russia. We will soon relocate them to a safe location,” Likhachev said.

The Bushehr plant is the first nuclear facility of its kind in Iran and the Middle East, located near the city of Bushehr. Construction began in 1975, but commercial operations only started in 2013.
