Russia, Türkiye discuss Ukraine, South Caucasus in Moscow talks

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin held talks with Turkish Ambassador to Russia Tanju Bilgiç on the situation surrounding the Ukrainian crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“The ambassador was briefed on the Russian side’s principled approaches to seeking a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, with an emphasis on the need to eliminate its root causes,” the statement by the ministry noted.

The discussions also covered developments in the South Caucasus. Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue cooperation in the interests of maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The meeting took place at the initiative of Ambassador Bilgiç, the ministry added.
