Russia, Ukraine trade 103 prisoners each in new swap

Russia and Ukraine have exchanged 103 prisoners of war each in the latest swap between the two sides, the Russian Defence Ministry said.

The ministry said 103 Russian servicemen had been returned to Russia, while 103 Ukrainian servicemen were handed over to Ukraine.

The exchange follows the previous Russia-Ukraine prisoner swap on June 26, when the two sides exchanged 160 servicemen each under a “160-for-160” formula.

According to Russian lawmaker Yana Lantratova, more than 1,700 Russian servicemen have been identified as being held captive in Ukraine, with more than 1,000 subsequently returned to Russia.
