Russia urges Israel to stop military actions in Lebanon
Russia has strongly urged Israel to immediately halt its military operations in Lebanon to prevent severe consequences for the entire region.
The call for a shift to political and diplomatic methods to resolve the ongoing conflict was made by Russia's Ambassador to Israel, Anatoly Viktorov, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“We urge Israel to immediately cease hostilities and transition to a peaceful, political resolution of the situation. Otherwise, the consequences will be absolutely severe for all countries in the region,” Viktorov stated.
The ambassador condemned the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on September 27, characterizing the act as being executed using "terrorist methods.
He emphasized that Nasrallah's elimination demonstrates Israel's lack of willingness to end the conflict and return the situation to a political and diplomatic path.
This statement highlights Russia's growing concern over the escalating tensions in Lebanon and its commitment to advocating for peace in the region.
