Russian Air Defence Forces down 40 Ukrainian drones, fire erupts in Volgograd
Early on February 15, Russian air Defences intercepted 40 Ukrainian drones across several regions, including 17 over Volgograd, 12 over Kaluga, 9 over Rostov, and 2 over Saratov.
Local authorities in Volgograd reported a fire breaking out in an industrial zone following the attack, Caliber.Az reports, citing a statement from Russian Defence Ministry on Telegram.
Volgograd Governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed that the fire was quickly brought under control, with no major damage to infrastructure. "A localized fire, covering no more than 5 square metres, broke out as a result of drone debris falling in the industrial area. It was promptly contained and extinguished," he stated.
One person sustained injuries in the attack. The Ministry of Defence added that 17 drones were destroyed over the Volgograd region alone.
Governor Bocharov further stated that, "In the south of Volgograd, one individual suffered minor injuries. There was damage to the roof of a residential building and a car." Authorities have confirmed that the situation is under control and no further casualties have been reported.
