Russian Air Defence Forces intercept 9 Ukrainian drones overnight
Russia’s air defences intercepted and destroyed multiple Ukrainian drones overnight, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Three drones were shot down over Bryansk Oblast, one over the Republic of Tatarstan, and four over the Black Sea, Caliber.Az reports via the Russian Defence Ministry.
Additionally, one drone was suppressed over Tula Oblast.
Ukrainian drones targeted a refinery in Syzran, Samara region, overnight, prompting emergency restrictions in parts of Russia, officials said. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev stated that emergency and operational services had been deployed at the facility in response to the attack.
Meanwhile, in Tula, regional governor Dmitry Milyaev said Russian defence systems had intercepted and neutralized a Ukrainian drone over the city.
"The UAV was suppressed using standard Ministry of Defence equipment," he added.
Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry also issued an alert warning of a potential drone attack on the southern city of Krasnodar, urging residents to remain calm.
Kyiv has recently acquired long-range drones capable of reaching as far as Siberia, according to previous reports.
