Russian air defences destroy 28 Ukrainian UAVs overnight
Russian air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 28 UAVs overnight across the Crimean peninsula, the Azov Sea, and the Krasnodar, Belgorod, and Rostov regions, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian Defence Ministry's message.
"On-duty air defence means destroyed and intercepted: 11 UAVs over the Crimean Peninsula; 8 UAVs over the waters of the Sea of Azov; 6 UAVs over the Krasnodar Territory; 2 UAVs over the Belgorod Region; and 1 UAV over the Rostov Region," the report stated.
In turn, Ukrainian media outlets reported that AFU downed 48 Shahed-type drones and five cruise missiles overnight on June 7.
The drones were reportedly launched from Cape Chauda in Crimea, the Russian town of Yeysk in Krasnodar Krai, the Russian town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, located on the coast of the Azov Sea, and Kursk Oblast.
Russia also used Tu-95MS bomber planes to launch Kh-101 cruise missiles from Saratov Oblast, targeting Ukrainian critical infrastructure.
Ukraine intercepted five missiles and 48 out of the 53 drones over Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft systems, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups were involved in the operations.
