Russian air defences repel large-scale overnight drone attack
Air defence systems in Russia intercepted 58 drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine overnight, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The ministry said the drones were destroyed between 23:00 on February 12 and 07:00 on February 13, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Most of the drones were shot down over the Volgograd Oblast, where 43 were intercepted. A further 12 drones were downed over the Rostov Oblast, while two were destroyed over the Kursk Oblast and one over Crimea.
Regional authorities in Volgograd said three people were injured during the attack. Falling debris from drones landed on the grounds of several industrial facilities across the city and the surrounding area. Officials also reported damage to vehicles and shattered windows in residential buildings.
No casualties or damage were reported in Rostov, Governor Yury Slyusar said in a message posted on Telegram. Authorities in the other affected regions have not commented on the aftermath of the strikes.
