Russian and US presidents hold talks on Iran and Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on the evening of March 9 to discuss the current international situation.
According to Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian leader, the call focused on possible resolutions to the situation in Iran, taking into account the outcomes of Putin’s recent discussions with leaders of the Gulf states, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“Putin shared his views with Trump on resolving the Iranian conflict, including the outcomes of his discussions with the leaders of the Gulf states,” the official said.
According to Ushakov, the main focus of the conversation between the two leaders was the situation surrounding Iran and negotiations on Ukraine. The issue of the situation in Venezuela was also raised during the call.
Trump reportedly initiated the call to “discuss the development of the current international situation,” highlighting ongoing concerns over regional stability and diplomatic efforts in multiple global hotspots.
