Russian army downs two Ukrainian aircraft, one drone
Russian Armed Forces have shot down two Ukrainian aircraft, Su-25 and Su-27.
They also intercepted 38 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and six Neptun cruise missiles, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian Defence Ministry’s Telegram page.
"The means of air defence overnight shot down two aircraft of the Ukrainian air forces: Su-25 near the city of Dnepropetrovsk and Su-27 near the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnepropetrovsk region," the ministry’s report said.
"Fourteen rockets of HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems were intercepted, as well as six Neptune anti-ship missiles," it noted.
According to the ministry, 38 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.
In addition, the ministry said that on-duty air defence forces destroyed a Ukrainian UAV over the Bryansk Region at around 13:00 on January 7.
