Russian army to receive Su-57 fifth-generation fighters with new engines
Fifth-generation Su-57 fighters with new second-stage engines will be supplied to Russian troops in accordance with the contract with the Russian Defence Ministry, Rostec Corporations’s First Deputy Director General Vladimir Artyakov said.
According to him, the United Engine Corporation (UEC) and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) are currently working on the delivery of the Su-57 with the second-stage engine, Gazeta.ru reports.
"Even with the first-stage engine, the fighter meets the basic requirements for a fifth-generation aircraft," the corporation’s deputy head said.
Artyakov assured that Rostec plans to significantly increase the pace of Su-57 production this year.
"Its combat capabilities are being built up, the most advanced technologies are being introduced into the vehicle. That is, its efficiency continues to grow," he added.
