Russian CEC members to observe Armenian parliamentary elections

Members of Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC), Pavel Andreev and Lyudmila Markina, will serve as international observers in Armenia’s upcoming parliamentary elections.

“Pavel Andreev, Lyudmila Markina, as well as representatives of election commissions from constituent regions of the Russian Federation, will take part in international observation of the elections in Armenia,” Russia's CEC said in aststement, Caliber.Az reports.

The statement added that, alongside foreign experts, representatives of local public organizations will also monitor the electoral process.

The Russian CEC further noted that 265 diplomatic missions and military personnel stationed abroad participated in online voting via the Central Election Commission of Armenia’s website. The online voting process was launched nine days before election day and continued for three days.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7.
